So at the station, there's a MYSTERIOUS STORAGE CLOSET, one that in almost ten years I don't think I've seen anyone going in or out of.  This week, the email went out: The closet was being emptied out, and we were free to scavenge whatever treasures we could find.

90% of the stacks are just one-song radio singles, but I found a few keepers - albums from Bob Dylan, U2, Midnight Oil, Neil Young, and others.  And then there were the more.... arcane finds.

Can I interest you in the first Wallflowers album on cassette tape???

How about this children's album from Art Garfunkel?  Why is the cd is trapped in a plastic blister pack???  CDs are hard enough to unwrap as it is.

Did you know actor Billy Bob Thornton has a band called The Boxmasters?  Did you know that the Boxmasters have released three albums?  Did you know that they've even recorded a Christmas album?  That's right, Bad Santa himself made a Christmas album.

When's the last time you saw a Betamax videotape? Apparently, the Dixie Chicks never stopped believing.

Of course, Betamax has been around for a long time in professional video studios.  Thing is, we're a radio station, not a TV station.  That hasn't stopped people from sending us music videos (again, RADIO station) on tape formats we couldn't possibly play.  Here's Alan Jackson on an enormous U-MATIC 3/4" video tape.  The betamax and cassette tapes included for reference.
