It’s a steamer this week! Try to stay cool. Here are some great ways to enjoy the weekend:
It’s 3rd in the Burg again in downtown and Midtown Harrisburg. There’s a whole schedule of events, including art exhibits, live music, food trucks and more.
I recommend checking out the Mashup Food Truck Festival to start, then meandering your way towards downtown with stops at Little Amps or Midtown Scholar. Check out exhibits at The State Museum, The Makespace, Gallery@Second and more.
Also, you’ll want to check out Stash, Harrisburg’s own vintage shop, on North Street.
On Saturday, beer is king. This weekend, you’ll have your choice of two local beer festivals.
The Dauphin County Brewfest runs from 3-7 p.m. Saturday and features a variety of breweries, both local and national including Troegs, Great Lakes Brewing Co., Wolaver’s Fine Organic Ales, Goose Island, Shed, Appalachian Brewing Co, Otter Creek, Penn Brewery, Millbock Brewing Co., Starr Hill and many more.
Tip: Get your tickets in advance ($35) -- They go up to $50 at the door.
Or, consider a taste of Maryland with the Blues & Brews event on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Choose from two sessions - noon to 3 p.m. or 5-8 p.m. and enjoy all-you-can-eat crabs, shrimp, hushpuppies, brisket and more. The event also features lives music.
Come hungry! Tickets are $50.
One of the area’s newest wineries, The Vineyard at Grandview, celebrates the grand opening of its new scenic deck this weekend. Located in Mount Joy, The Vineyard at Grandview focuses on dry wines -- but offers its rock candy collection for those with a sweet tooth.
The party goes all weekend long, including Sunday, when you can pack a picnic and enjoy live jazz music from JazzMe.
A great way to relax and unwind after a busy Friday and Saturday experiencing culture in and around the Harrisburg area.
